Description
ANN UAL MEDICAL GAS & VACUU M SYSTEMS INSPECTION
Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Jack C. Montgomery VAMC
PURPOSE:

The purpose of this contract is to engage a contractor for the annual medical gas inspection and vacuum systems in accordance with the NFPA 99 (National Fire Protection Association), Code
99 Health Care Facilities Code, current addition see below annual medical gas and vacuum inspection list.

Inspection agency must be certified to ASSE 6020 Inspector NFPA 99 Certification, ASSE 6030 Verifier NFPA 99 Certification, and ASSE 6035 Bulk Medical Gas Systems Verifier

The COR shall be notified three days prior to vendor staff coming on site for annual testing and commencement of work.

Master Alarm Test: The master alarm system tests shall be performed for each of the medical gas and vacuum piping systems. All master alarm signals need to be documented on the report including building locations. (5.1.12.3.5.2)

Gas Supply Sources Test: The system apparatus shall be tested for proper function including the changeover from primary to secondary supply, and vice versa. Document on the report including building locations. (S.1.12.3.14.2)

Medical Air Compressor Systems: Tests of the medical air compressor system shall include the purity test for air quality and the alarm sensors after calibration and setup as per manufacture
instructions including lead-lag controls. Document on report including building locations. (5.1.12.3.14.3)

Medical-Surgical Vacuum Supply Systems: Verify the adequacy of construction, location and functionality of the system. Note any irregularities of the system. Test alarm system.

Waste Anesthetic Gas Disposal (WAGD): Verify the adequacy of construction and design, and functionality of the system.

Alarms Tests: All warning systems for each medical gas and vacuum system(s) shall be tested to ensure that all components function properly. Document on the report and building location. (S.1.12.3.5)

Valve Test. Valves installed in each medical gas and vacuum piping system shall be tested to ensure that all components function properly.
