Description

Statement of Work / Construction Project # 623-23-105 Renovate Library Request contractor provide all required labor, material, equipment, and site investigations to complete renovation of the space as describe below. The objective of this project is to renovate the library section located on the 1st floor of building 22 (refer to pdf drawing for reference). The entirety of the space is approximately 1,568 sq. feet. Renovation areas include the library section and three offices (104A1-22, 104A-22, 104A2-22). Window glass between library and office 104A-22 will be removed. The space will require new carpet, wall repair and paint, replace ceiling tiles and light fixtures. During construction, remove all furniture and relocate to a secure storage area. All spaces shall be inspected for asbestos and lead paint prior to demolition work. If asbestos is identified, a modification to the contract will be issued. If any hazardous materials are found, they are to be abated. Assume that LVT is under carpet and needs to be removed. Contractor is to demo and remove existing millwork counter and storefront door, framing and glazing in the area. Renovation considerations shall include but are not limited to the following: A phasing plan shall be developed to mitigate disturbance to the department. The space must remain fully functional during construction. Existing wall art painted directly on the walls shall remain untouched. All removable wall art shall be removed during construction, stored in a safe location, and returned to the same location upon completion. Carpet to be Shaw Hype 64549 color: Amplify 24 x24 , ceiling grid and panels to be 2x2 Symphony or equivalent, paint to be Sherwin Williams #SW-7649 Silverplate Satin Enamel, cove base to be Roppe Pinnacle color: Charcoal 123, 4 , and lights to be 2x2 LED or approved equivalents. Contractor to meet all VA Infection Control regulations while working in the area, including but not limited to ICRA barriers, negative air and walk off matts. Prime contractor shall comply with NFPA, NEC and Life Safety Codes, ADA, VA Design Criteria / manuals, construction standards and other required standards. The space conditions and the execution of this project shall proceed with minor interference to the operation of the medical center and shall comply with all requirements for infection control, utility interruptions, fire protection, and all other safety requirements of the contract. Contractor is required to attend a site visit after the project is awarded to familiarize themselves with existing conditions to be encountered during construction. Construction is to be completed in 180 calendar days from notice to proceed.
