Description

The Air Force intends to solicit the following supply:





The 76th AMXG is requesting the purchase of Portable HEPA Air Filtration Unit. This unit will be used for collection of dust / debris from blasting operations. (i.e. paint / coating removal)





This requirement must have the following specifications:






  1. One (1) Portable Air Filtration unit, with the following specifications:








    1. Shall have an air filtration system comprised of the following types of filter in sequential order (refer to attached sketch):

      1. Automatically purging dust collection filter system

      2. National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) Method 319 compliant 3-stage dry particulate filter system (2 stages of panel filter, and 5-pocket bag filter) tested and certified in accordance with 40 CFR 63.750(o). A list of approved filter systems is attached.

      3. HEPA air filter.












    1. Shall have a dust collection filter system (comprised of no fewer than six (6) cartridge filters of dimensions no smaller than 12.75" x 30" and efficiency no lower than 99.9% at 0.5 microns) mounted upstream of the NESHAP Method 319 compliant filter system per the attached diagram.










    1. Shall have automated compressed air jet pulsation filter cleaning system for particulate removal/cleaning of dust collection filters.










    1. Shall have compressed air filter cleaning system, Programmable Logic Controller controlled reverse jet pulse.

      1. Shall use compressed air of 1.5 SCF/pulse.

      2. Shall have three (3) diaphragm valves.

      3. Shall have three (3) pilot valves.












    1. Shall have IEC/NEMA-sized combination start/stop motor starter.

      1. Starter is to be 208VAC/240VAC, 3 phase, with portable cord.

      2. Cord is to have four (4) conductors, have 10 AWG wire size, be rubber, be black, be 100 ft long, and be 600V SOOW.



    2. Shall have analog differential pressure measurement across all three (3) stages of NESHAP Method 319 compliant filter.

      1. Shall have ability to establish a set point to measure a pressure drop of up to one (1) inch of water column across the three (3) stages of filters (both panels and bag).

      2. Gauge shall have a span of at least three (3) inches of water.












    1. Shall have HEPA after filters, 99.97% efficiency rating. 24" x 24" x 12" (nominal).

    2. Each HEPA filter must be metal encased with rubber or neoprene gasket.

    3. Shall include four (4) extra sets of all stages of filters

    4. Shall have Minimum Air Flow of 4,000 CFM.

    5. Shall have Minimum of 5 HP, 3 Phase, 1750 RPM, TEFC Motor with non-overloading blower with overload protection

    6. Shall have voltage requirements of 208/230V (with L15-30 Amp, 4 Prong Locking Male Plug).

    7. Shall have 100’ power cord

    8. Shall have tow bar with lunette of toroidal steel construction.

    9. Shall have epoxy coating (or equivalent protective coating)

    10. Dimensional Requirements:

      1. Shall have Maximum Height of 4-1/2 feet












      1. Shall have a Maximum Length of 10 feet (not including tow bar).

      2. Shall have a Maximum Width of 6 feet












    1. Shall provide copy of schematic drawings and design specifications for approval prior to shipment.

    2. Shall have two duct flanges capable of connecting to standard 12" ID flexible reinforced duct on the dust-collecting side of the unit.










    1. Must ship with quantity four (4) of 25’ sections of flexible, reinforced, collapsible dust collection suction hose.

      1. Shall include two (2) connectors, each of which can connect quantity two (2) of 25’ sections together.

      2. Hoses shall be compatible with duct flanges installed on the dust-collecting side of the unit.












    1. Shall have welded, heavy gauge, carbon steel construction.










    1. Shall have minimum four (4) heavy duty, industrial grade casters.












    1. Casters on the towbar side shall swivel and casters opposite the towbar shall be rigid. All Casters shall:

      1. have shock absorbers

      2. have wheels of solid material (i.e. rubber versus air filled)

      3. have wheels no smaller than 6” diameter

      4. be suitable for towing on rough surfaces

      5. be lockable

      6. be suitable for being towed

      7. be rated for outdoor use

      8. be heavy duty.












    1. Shall have multipurpose epoxy coating throughout collector.








    1. Shall include One (1) Manual in PDF format, to be transmitted electronically.








  1. Contractor shall furnish NESHAP Method 319 Filter System certification at time of bid submission. Method 319 certified filters shall comply with the filter efficiencies in Table 4 (liquid) and 5 (solid) of 40 CFR 63.745.






  1. Contractor shall provide documentation certifying that HEPA Air Filtration Unit provided is NESHAP Method 319 compliant per 40 CFR 63.745 and 40 CFR 63.746 by date of unit shipment.
