Description

The Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) is designated the responsibility to oversee the day-to-day radiation-related operations at all EOVAHCS sites, performing all duties associated with that role. The RSO position is a director-appointed position and answers directly to the COS or designee. The RSO is responsible for all radiation-related issues that are associated with Jack C. Montgomery Medical Center, THCC and all Dental locations both Muskogee and Tulsa. Radiation Safety Officer. In addition to an oversight role for Nuclear Medicine activities, the RSO is responsible for establishing and implementing radiation safety procedures related to the use of fluoroscopy and reviewing them periodically to ensure their conformity with Federal radiation safety regulations and this directive. Ensuring regulatory standards for radiation safety and medical physics practices is an expectation throughout EOVAHCS. Contract is for a one-year period with a renewal option per the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center (EOVAHCS).
